Mike Pompeo Offers Clarity on COVID-19

The White House has a convoluted message on the coronavirus pandemic. President Trump has been all over the map on the topic. He often says one thing in a press conference then tweets something entirely different later in the day. Hence, it’s time for some clarity on the issue. Enter Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Secretary Pompeo appeared on “This Week” yesterday. He was answering questions from Martha Raddatz. Pompeo was laying the blame on China pretty thick. He said the following.

“China behaved like authoritarian regimes do, attempted to conceal and hide and confuse.”

Thus, it was important for him to present a clear and consistent message. One wouldn’t want to confuse people, or conceal and hide the truth. That’s what authoritarian regimes do. Right? Therefore we can trust him when he states the following.

Asked by host Martha Raddatz if he believed the virus was man-made or genetically modified, Pompeo cited “experts” saying it was man-made.

So the virus is man made. Excellent. That clears things up. Previously, we had heard from the Administration that it was a naturally occurring virus. However, that can’t be true, since the experts are saying it’s man made. Raddatz asked him about that.

But Raddatz pointed out that the Office of the Director of National Intelligence said the scientific consensus is that COVID-19 was not man-made or genetically modified.

“That’s right. I agree with that. Yeah. I’ve seen their analysis. I’ve seen the summary that you saw that was released publicly. I have no reason to doubt that that is accurate,” he said.

Well thanks for clearing that up, Mike. It’s so refreshing to not live under an authoritarian regime that tries to confuse people.

Full disclosure on Mike Pompeo

I’ll be honest. I thought Mike Pompeo was a good hire when he got the job. However, it seems that he has taken on the personality of his master. Tell your lie, and if it falls flat, say the opposite. If the lie works, double down.
