Usually, the President of the United States is good for a couple of major gaffes a week. However, the President had a busy day on Wednesday. He covered all of his bases. International diplomatic snafu? Check. Incoherent banter with the press? Check. Nothing could top his Twitter tirade where he quoted a right wing talk radio host comparing him to the “second coming of God”. We begin with one of our favorite segments…
Trump be Tweetin’
the Jewish people in Israel love him….
….like he’s the King of Israel. They love him like he is the second coming of God…
There’s a lot to unpack here. First, the wording. “Second coming of God”. Typically, one might say “Second coming of Jesus”. Hence, I get the impression that the author of the quote is aware that the Jewish faith doesn’t believe that the Jesus was the Messiah. Moreover, they haven’t seen the first coming. Why would they be looking for the second one?
Secondly, there’s the historical nature. Trump is the best in the history of the world, not just America. I would like to point out that America predates European settlement. Moreover, it’s been here roughly as long as the rest of the world. However, don’t let things like that stop a carnival barker like W.A.R. from hyperbolic Trump worship.
The biggest problem is the anti-semitism expressed in the quote.
Can you imagine Trump saying “Mexicans should never vote Republican because Republicans don’t want what is best for Mexico”? Of course not. Mexicans are supposed to put America first. Hence, they’re supposed to learn English and assimilate.
Jews on the other hand? They’re supposed to put Israel first when voting in America. Otherwise, they’re disloyal. They can’t vote against the second coming of God. And who decides what is best for Israel? The Jewish voters? No. President Trump knows what’s best for Israel.
What has the second coming of God done for Israel?
He moved the embassy to Jerusalem. This is to strengthen Israeli claims to the land. To take it off the table in the event of a second state peace deal. Why is that so important to evangelicals? I’ll let them tell you.
“The rabbis of the Sanhedrin court are calling both mayor candidates to include in their plans for this city the rebuilding of the third temple.Reverend Paul Begley
“Folks, this is as close to Biblical prophecy – I don’t know what else to say.
“That’s how close it’s getting and if you’re a Christian, you’re saying: ‘Wow, the Messiah is coming’
“There’s no doubt about it. Jesus of Nazareth, the saviour of the world, is going to return.”
You know how ISIS wanted to establish a caliphate so their end times would begin? Thus, Allah would crush all the infidels and Muslims would go to paradise. This is the evangelical version of that. Rebuild the temple, start the end times. God will destroy the unbelievers, cast them into hell, and take us to heaven.
However in this case, Jews are unbelievers. Hence, President Trump is literally defining loyalty to Israel as Jewish people being complicit in their own demise. It’s his strictest loyalty test yet.
Trump, the secondcoming of God, is also the chosen one.
Back to the President’s busy day. Fresh on the heels of his revelation of divinity, he confirmed the sentiment to the press. See for yourself.
“You could’ve just said no.”
Trump wrapped it all up by lashing out in anger at the Danish Prime Minister.
I don’t know what’s more amusing. The childish nature of his temper tantrum, or his inability to say the word “absurd”. That aside, his premise is flawed. She wasn’t insulting America. America didn’t come up with the stupid idea of buying Greenland. That lays at the foot of one person. Dare I say a “chosen one”? That person is the second coming of God himself, President Trump. Stop blaming America for your failed ideas, Mr. President.
