The right loves to speak about “TDS”. Trump Derangement Syndrome. However, they seem to be unaware that this condition works two ways. True, it can afflict opponents of the President. Maxine Waters comes to mind. Moreover, it can also affect his supporters. Ladies and Gentlemen, meet Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham.
Trump Derangement Syndrome is when an individual becomes so hyper-focused on the President that they lose touch with reality. It can happen on either side.
Yesterday, Attorney General Barr was testifying before the Senate. As per usual, the opposition was hitting hard. However, his allies were grandstanding and asking cream puff questions. They were tossing softballs up there for him to hit out of the park.
This is accomplished by asking questions that you know the answer to. Moreover, they set up the witness to make your point for you. So instead of hearing the Senator’s point in his own words, we get it in the words of the Attorney General.
Ted Cruz was rolling along nicely. He chided Democrats for complaining that they had to “wait a few weeks” to get what Mueller wanted released instantly. Note to servers. When Ted Cruz takes his wife out, he apparently won’t mind if his meal arrives 19 days after her meal is served. Certainly he wouldn’t nitpick like the Democrats. I digress.
Now at this point, let’s remember that Ted Cruz is a lawyer. Every good lawyer knows not to ask a question unless you already know the answer. However, Ted has a problem. The Senator is so cocooned in his right wing echo chamber that he forgets that he has ventured out into reality. The answer he is expecting is the Rush Limbaugh caller answer. Barr tries to comply. However, realizing he’s under oath, he catches himself and gives the honest answer. Watch starting at 6:20.
Ted Cruz publicly displays symptoms of Trump Derangement Syndrome.
- Cruz: “Do we know if the Obama Administration investigated any other candidates running for President?”
- Barr “I don’t know.”
- Cruz: “Do we know if they wiretapped any other…” (Barr interrupts)
- Barr: “Well, I’m sorry, I guess they were investigating Hillary Clinton’s emails.”
Oh, yeah. That’s right. This interview is taking place in reality. A place where not only was Hillary investigated, but the Obama Administration (since he’s pinning FBI actions on them) announced 11 days before the election that they reopened the investigation into her. Meanwhile, they remained silent on the investigation into Trump. Because they thought that would help Hillary and hurt Trump. Right Ted?
While we’re on the subject, notice how deep the derangement runs with everyone’s favorite Canadian Senator? When the Obama Justice Department opens up an investigation into Trump, it’s Democrats investigating Trump. However, when the Trump Justice Department opens an investigation into Trump, it’s also Democrats investigating Trump?
If Ted Cruz were to be consistent for once in his life, it would mirror a scene from a movie named after him, “Liar Liar“. Trump’s kicking his own ass. Well, except for one thing. Trump’s investigation into Trump was like most things Trump does. Unsuccessful.
Furthermore, here in reality Trump wasn’t “wiretapped”. That only happened in the delusional Twitter rants of the President and, apparently, in Ted Cruz’s head.
Nonetheless, Ted Cruz wasn’t always a big fan of Donald Trump. Remember when he said this?
“Donald Trump is such a narcissist that Barack Obama looks at him and says, ‘Dude, what’s your problem?’ Whatever lie he’s telling, in that minute he believes it, but the man is utterly amoral. Morality does not exist for him.”
Not to be outdone, politically bipolar Lindsey Graham decided he needed a turn on the couch.
Lindsey Graham also suffers from Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Trump is a f*cking idiot.
Lindsey Graham says quoting a Peter Strzok text.
Compare them to Mueller.
Well, good sir. How about we compare them to Senator Lindsey Graham? You may have heard of the guy.
He’s a jackass… But he’s crossed a line here saying John McCain and people like him aren’t American heroes. The American people will not tolerate what he’s doing now regarding those who have served. This is a line he has crossed, and this is the beginning of the end now for Donald Trump.
Oh, but they will tolerate it. Moreover you, sir, will tolerate it. Furthermore, you will embrace it. That, and much more. And for those of you saying “calling him a jackass is much different than calling him an idiot”… don’t look now.
“I’m not going to try to get into the mind of Donald Trump because I don’t think there’s a whole lot of space there. I think he’s a kook. I think he’s crazy. I think he’s unfit for office. And I’m a Republican and he’s not. He’s not fit to be President of the United States. Any Republican who would accuse George W. Bush of lying to the American people about the Iraq war and being responsible for 9/11 is not a Republican. They’re an extremist, they’re crazy.”
So as these two Senators sit up there and compete to see which one can most firmly lodge their lips on the President’s rectum, remember this. They’re the same men who called Trump “unfit, amoral, narcissistic, crazy, and a kook”. Now suddenly, they say someone who called him an idiot at around the same time they were saying those very things can’t be trusted to judge him fairly. So why should we trust their current assessment of President Trump? We shouldn’t. Trump Derangement Syndrome is a two way street, and you’ve seen both of these men travel in each direction on it.
